Brilliant race! awesome route! nice technical single track, nice flowing single track, a great climb to sort things out, small seeded start groups and the weather held out!

Went out yesterday for the 25KM and I'm glad to see that others are mentioning the initial climb just after the start. I probably started out incorrectly because after that climb I wasn't up to scratch. Really enjoyed the ride though, very scenic and also enjoyed the single track. Out of interest, does anybody know what distance that climb was?

Very nice ride all in all except that someone had broken into one of the riders car's during the race. That's very unfortunate and unnecessary and sort of put a damper on it for me. I've only moved to the Western Cape recently so I'm not sure how often that happens in these parts...

The Nuweberg climb is 3.1km and 234m altitude gain. That does not include the warmup climb after crossing the river. That's about 165m ascent, all of it in probably just over a km! The rough surface makes for a tough climb.

Unfortunately there have been some issues with crime in the country club are lately, 2 guys were mugged (close to Sir Lowry's pass where we turned to go back to the club) and stripped of everything, they walked home in their bib shorts! So always cycle in groups at the club. First I have heard of car break-ins, that pretty sad.

Spent the whole day with awesome visions of that route, especially of coming over the "rock garden" and descending to the end with a huge grin on my face. Man, I love that event! To me it was perfect conditions considering the heat and dust of some of the recent weeks. Note to self...start the Garmin when you lie your bike down for the LeMans start!!

Does anyone know where we can find the photos for this event. There were a few photographers with flashes set-up over the route
