  1. Gravel bikes or MTBs? I have heard from some people that is was very rough for gravel bikes last year.
  2. I cant give weights yet, I had a bit of a delay on my bike, I am slowly starting to complete my build. So far I have 29" ZTR-crests and some other bits and pieces. I'm thinking of going withShimano 105 disc groupset with 2x Shimano 105 with 11spd 11-34 rear cog and 46/30 on the front. Looking forward to sharing some pics soon.
  3. I got the orange frame and slowly figuring it out and building it up, will post some pics soon. I found a cheap set of Stans ZTR crest wheels in mint condition online, but still need to get some rubber for them, the 2.1 MTB wheels are too fat and rub on the frame. Next thing is the groupset, was thinking of going 2x11, 105, see if i can find a used one for a good price. Loving this thread!!
  4. Cool, I will be in Sedgefield. I'm just so excited to read this post. now I will have to bring both bikes :-)
  5. Great event but their are problems with the half marathon ladies results...maybe for other categories but I only paid attention to this one (where my daughter was racing). SASeeding have corrected it in the race results but not in the series standings (points)...which if you are a junior/youth racing for regional points then it does matter. Hope they sort it out.
  6. Ha ha...It did come across as though I was responding to your direct message...sorry bout that...
  7. Lets keep perspective...we are talking about a 15 year old who rode through the batches and fought her way to a 2nd fastest time...in my opinion she deserves the podium more than the 30 year old person who had the 30th fastest time but somehow found herself in the front batch.
  8. Although Racetec is also not a good gauge...Regional marathon series is Nissan trailseeker (advendurance) and Provincial marathon champs is Great Time – Grevile Ruddock...so yes Racetec might help with your Argus..but not for the races that count towards provincial. These girls that came 2nd and 4th don't do many Racetec events because they are focused on what counts.
  9. According to Amarider, for the 50km woman's race, the podiums were awarded to first 3 riders home regardless of what batch they started in...not the fastest 3 riders. That's very disappointing for the people that sat around waiting for prizegiving because the "live" results showed them as being fastest. Although this sucks...it is satisfying to know that within the first 5 riders, were a 16 (2nd) and a 17 (4th) year old that rode their hearts out and beat the 2nd and third place podium ladies...as well as the rest of the ladies field. They should have been on the podium but weren't due to this silly rule. Well done to them!
  10. I am doing it. I will pm you semisub.
  11. Hi Koukie CAD $2461.60 which includes Tax and Processing Fees of $145.38. When I entered, it came to R25 741.20. (per person)...obviously excludes flights and day-0 accommodation. There is also a $400CAD price if you want the meal plan for the week.
  12. I just ordered a RS reverb...if you see me at Berg & bush or W2W with it...its because I'm "getting used to it"...
  13. I have a Specialized Epic comp (2013) which is also 100mm travel... and I'll definitely put a dropper post on...I spoke to Nico F who did it as well and he said it was the first race he used a hydration pack...so I guess as I wont be racing I will definitely go with a small hydration pack...It's difficult to gauge how hectic it is...one persons hectic is another persons average...I'm going to be prepared and ride as much tech trail as I can between now and then...I'm pretty sure it will be awesome trails though...
  14. Good stuff...What bike did you do it on...how much travel? Did you use a dropper post? I know it is still a year away but I cant wait...
  15. Ha ha...if you want people to see your crack after a year get Assos...

  19. Early bird entries were gobbled up in 5 minutes, the normal entries are at 70% for 2015. If anyone on the Hub did this in 2014, please pm me...I'm keen to chat.
  20. I'm in...anyone else doing it in 2015.
  21. Spent the whole day with awesome visions of that route, especially of coming over the "rock garden" and descending to the end with a huge grin on my face. Man, I love that event! To me it was perfect conditions considering the heat and dust of some of the recent weeks. Note to self...start the Garmin when you lie your bike down for the LeMans start!!
  22. Ha Ha...A wimpy brekkie on the way home did the trick :-)
