So who's all doing BC Bike Race this year in Canada? My regular riding partner unfortunately had to pull out so I'm going solo. Would like get an idea of how many other guys are going...

It was awesome! The trails are insane and it doesn't stop. Very technical and very physical as you ride single track 80%+ of the time. Impossible to describe the scale and magnitude of trails, the clips on YouTube are also misleading (makes it look like a party!) Steep climbs made me wish I took a 28 XX1 chainring after day 4. The skills on the trails of some of the locals blew my mind. In terms of organization they can learn a thing or two from the Epic though!

Good stuff...What bike did you do it on...how much travel? Did you use a dropper post? I know it is still a year away but I cant wait...

Tallboy, 100mm travel, dropper post a must! Also make sure you've ridden the dropper post for a few months to get used to it. Important to have the control where you can reach it without moving your whole hand. I also used a clamp to limit the dropper post travel to about 40mm as that is all I felt I need and I can still pedal at that level.

100mm is enough, although I think most fun will be on something like a 5010 with a little more travel. Too much travel will hurt you on the steep climbs, and there are many... Most of the top 50 riders were on 29" 100mm full suspension bikes.

And I would also advise to take a hydration pack as there are many long single track sections of 30-40min+ where it is nearly impossible to get a bottle out.

I have a Specialized Epic comp (2013) which is also 100mm travel... and I'll definitely put a dropper post on...I spoke to Nico F who did it as well and he said it was the first race he used a hydration pack...so I guess as I wont be racing I will definitely go with a small hydration pack...It's difficult to gauge how hectic it is...one persons hectic is another persons average...I'm going to be prepared and ride as much tech trail as I can between now and then...I'm pretty sure it will be awesome trails though...

Hi Koukie

CAD $2461.60 which includes Tax and Processing Fees of $145.38. When I entered, it came to R25 741.20. (per person)...obviously excludes flights and day-0 accommodation.

There is also a $400CAD price if you want the meal plan for the week.
