Txs guys, managed to get hold of Cape Town supplier who is going to sort me out on Powerbeam.

Will entail separate rear wheel which I was contemplating in any event. Actually considering buying cheapie MTB as full time IDT bike.

Rather buy a cheap road bike, you're gonna run out of gears with the mtb, or get a 52 front blade.

I hear what people say about the Tacx and its closed system but consider this.

I have the tablet version of the Bushido. Load shedding is no problem. Runs slick as gorilla snot on a banana leaf without power. Love being able to get home in th e middle of load shedding and can listen to music on my cell while running the app as per normal on my iPad. With my old trainer that required power I would sit on the couch and wait for the power to come back and by the time it had I would be involved in a book or something and the session would be missed,

I think you got a seriously good piece of kit. Personally I think it's better than the tacx apart from the one thing I mentioned

Hi Guys,

Really enjoyed all the info - completely stuffed up my afternoon - but I am far more enlightened about indoor trainers.

Rouxtjie - great advice and insights and links - thanks.

I've been on an old Tacx Flow for the last two years and am now ready for an upgrade with the added benefit of finally having my own mancave to do it in.

Is the Tacx Neo (you can see my bias)  available locally?

Regards,

Rob

I saw one on display at the CTCT so they're definitely in the country. Finding someone who actually stocks them is a different matter.
