( i dont have an internet problem - 2meg uncapped adsl working fine ) ( i am waiting for the response from Dave and co as well )

joined the online race for this evening, but this must be fixed first - i assume.

Can you not just skip the update, and still log in?

Have any of you guys come across reasonably FLAT routes on the system yet? I am looking for some with distances between 20 and 40 kms to use just for training fitness, if that makes any sense.

Have had 2 back ops and been off the bike for almost 2 years now. Want to use them for time in the saddle without putting to much stress on the back and neck.

You can just create your own routes then on roads that you know are relatively flat...

Try looking around Vaal Dam... nice flat roads there

Just do a free ride, put the inclination on 1 degree or so

Off the top of my head: Kappellen (?spelling). I think it was very flat. You can put in a search criterium where climbing is limited to below x meters.

What I can also suggest is put the name "smooth" in when searching for routes. Smoothed out routes are a lot better so you don't find little bumps when riding down a mountain full tilt.

Wow that hurt! Well done to @bunnyrabbit for kicking everyones arses. I see Trainerroad has finally launched their beta application for IOS which will also include online racing. Everyone can sign up for free but limited space available.
