  1. Be careful. You might find info you don't want to know. She might be an old lady, 70 years of age. lol. I think it's great if people from other countries join these hub races.
  2. Anybody using multifocal lenses in their sunglasses?
  3. I am sitting on the sidelines watching you guys! Had an angiogram done today, so taking things easy....but as Arnie said," I will be back"......at the back.
  4. I will decide closer to the time. Old and sick at the moment, so don't want to register and be a "no show".
  5. I think you are talking about the 1 for next week. Last night I got visitors, so I unregistered. Sorry Jaco. I think you would have overtaken me about 20 times anyway. Will have to see if I can do the race next week, as I am going in for a procedure where they "burn the nerve ends in your spine". Not sure if it is the correct description, but hope like hell it works.
  6. I watched the race tonight. Feedback during the race was excellent. Just after 7 odd kms the jakkals went red and stopped. During the race Flippie turned red on 5 occasions, The last time was right at the end, the system threw him back to the start line showing 0 kms travelled. As each person finished they turned red, no indication that they had actually finished. Very confusing that. When going to the actual race results, they are correct. I think Dave and the boys should look at this. Just after the 30 km mark I thought the Doc cobuswessels was out hunting rabbit and mongoose, not to be. Good going guys. Flippie well done. My 2 cents.
  7. I am still out. Two courses of antibiotics to sort me out. Will see Thursday evening, if someone puts up a nice race for old guys.
  8. Agree with you 100% here. I know what my abilities are, also based on age and health reasons, I am the ultimate dirt roadie. I try stay away from the hard races, especially if a lot of technical riding ability is needed for the following reasons. I am K#@ scared to fall I do not want to get in the way of other riders who have the right skills, thus spoiling the race for them. About 3 weeks back, they had a mtb race down here in Bloem - 2 routes. 1 was advertised it had climbs and technical skills needed. The other was flatter, no skills needed. I was in dirt rodie heaven.
  9. Jorrie, you going to hurt my feelings. lol. It's all yours. I pulled out about 10 minutes ago as I definitely am not going to be home in time. If you sick, rather sit it out.
  10. I think Dave did a 94.7, not the full route, about 60 odd kms. Battery life is the problem. The Virb's battery lasts about 2 hours, so a battery change will be needed, else a battery pack connected to the Virb or Gopro. You also need someone who is reasonably fast as the longer you take, so the video file size increases. A 5 hour video file will be a nightmare to work with when editing compared to a 3 hour one. I like your idea.
  11. When you enter the race, on the way to the start line, the webcam option pops up. No way in hell will I activate that. The pain on my face while I push out my measly 120 watts will have you all rolling around laughing.
