B20 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Won't be doing this again!Pricey 2nd last water point had no water just warm apple juice. Lots of the guys in my group were running dry and looking for water. Next water point felt far away in the heat and running dry. Only got water at the last water point, 5km before the end.Mr Willemse, water is not only used for drinking but also for cooling down at 32' temp 50km into a race. Single tracks were nice though.

So people assume that u r the one who has responsible for the race. People blame u now even though u try to make us happy with lots of prizes by ur own money... shame..

Dont send me pathetic little private messages. Speak the truth, we payed more, so you could afford the lucky draw prizes, and Joel Stranskys entry fee, flights and rental car. Moving on, lesson learnt.
Larry King Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Was a mess... Start groups a - d were send in the wrong direction. Start was dangerous as we were turned around nemerous times. Poor poor poor organizing.
BrandonF_ Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I felt flat before the race, and with the stuff up of the marshall right at the start, had no ambition to complete the race, so I bailed with the intention of chilling at home and ride a properly organised race tomorrow, Buffet Olives, I'll see you tomorrow...

Rapunzel Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Did the 54km MTB, started off on the worse note, Marshall sending us on Road race route, luckily somone noticed & took us back to the intended route via the back roads. Then I dropped my chain not once but twice, punctured as well but I just had to bomb, lost my 2 man group in the process, was in contention for a top 5 at least. Route markings were poor in some areas, luckily I didn't get lost, heard of others who unfortunately did, already gave feedback regarding route markers to one of race the organisers since he came upto us & asked how the route was . I reckon the race was poorly attended overall Or maybe I just arrived too late.Sorry you had such a rotten day out :-(Also got caught in the hash up with being sent in the wrong direction and would suggest to race organisers that the first stretch to Clara Anna Fontein be a neutral zone with a motorbike / car escort. Also think the value for money was bad and that by decreasing the entry fee would have vastly increased the size of the field. I didn't have a problem with the route markers but I probably had a few more people ahead of me to follow than you
