I'm starting to see your genious now: Water tank + gas bottle holder = fresh espresso at the start and finish of every ride, no matter where you travel with your bikes! All you need for a classy cafe is an umbrella and a folding chair or two, and I see enough room for that on the trailer!

Indeed! Fresh water, hot coffee at start, cold beer at finish (camping fridge in car) and camping chairs. In theory, life will be good on the trip.

Jis daai treiler het Gees!

Should be lekker for touring, enjoy the roadtrips.

question:

Will it not be wise to add shocks to the suspension somehow (most trailer axles don't have provision for this) to stop the trailer bouncing around?

My trailer has huge wheels, so I deflate the tyres a bit when it has a light load to lessen the bouncing, but not sure whether it is wise with smaller tyres. I'm asking as I also working on a trailer project for the future

Hi PhilipV.

This was originally a "Ventertjie" with tiny wheels on, 10" I think. Have now put on 13" tyres and rims. Have thought about bouncing but hopefully will be heavy enough, (especially with water tank full), to prevent too much bouncing. Will add shocks if excessive.

first you need to get the correct size wheels on your bikes

awesome build well done, enjoy wherever you are going to be riding.

Going to put 26" inch wheels on the forward facing bikes to reduce wind drag.

You must please post that last 2 pictures in the "photographer" thread, they're beauts  Very jealous of your trip. Was there last year but sans bicycles. One of the truly beautiful parts of the world, Worlds View.
