Achilles Posted July 16, 2014 Share In the light of the non-Authentic (fake) bikes that seems to be doing the rounds (aired on carte blanche), does anyone know if there are evident ways of identifying whether your scott spark mtb is a fake?i.e. some Scott stickers or signs that they have put in for this purposes (like a watermark on a money note type thing? rouxtjie Posted July 16, 2014 Share Serial no would be my first guess. Confirm it with scott SA
Meezo Posted July 16, 2014 Share You best weapon is knowledge...not just in cycling might i add. Anyway go look at the Chinese carbon thread, as far as i can remember there's only 1 29er DS frame. So unless the frame doesn't match this mould then the chances are its not fake.
Larry King Posted July 16, 2014 Share Agreed, there are only 2 open 29er full sus frames floating around and neither would pass for a Scott Spark. The Prior owner may have had this spark repaired, resprayed and then sold it to you.
Longbarn Killer Posted July 16, 2014 Share You will be better off getting a fake Scott Spark. The real ones break too easily. Skubarra, Vangar, mrbaker and 3 others
