Anthem X1 or Trance X1

I need opinions.

 

To buy Giant Anthem X1 or Giant Trance X1?

 

Type of riding? - General riding, district roads, jeep track, single track. Some minor technical.

 

Racing? The odd 1 day race (not much) and then also odd long distance endurance events.

 

Any thoughts?

My requirements were about the same as yours. I was told by a chap that rides that a lot (on an anthem) that a trance would suite the needs better as it has a more relaxed position and thus you dont have to feel like you are "racing" all the time... I admit I like both frames but the trance is more comfortable (feels a bit slower though - tiny bit)

 

edit: all this I said, I havent ridden a 27 or 29 trance.

I've had both. For the type of riding you're describing buy the Anthem - it's a great allrounder.

I have one of those old style Trances, the 26in one....and its a comfortable and relaxing ride, since buying it I no longer ride with a bike computer or HR monitor, I just ride if because its fun and goes just about anywhere.
