Guest Smimby Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I was paging through a cycling mag and noticed this picture of someone(well known in cycling circles) riding the DC. Then I noticed the earpieces, and thought to myself...PPA has a STRICT rule against this, or is it allowed in the DC? OR is it allowed for certain people? IF so I have a question, the rule is there for SAFETY reasons apparently, so at why stage is it suddenly allowed? What training did they do and can you/I do to be allowed to ride with earpieces for phones / music etc......?

Last year sometime at a MTB race a very local CSA official shouted at one of the competitors on the route to remove those "things"from your ears or you will be disqualified . Poor chap on the bike could not hear anything else the rest of the race ! GLuvsMtb 1

IF that is an Hearing aid, then it is the oldest one I have ever seen....I just find it interesting that the no earpiece rule is for OUR SAFETY....but SOME people are allowed to do this and it is overlooked....?
