Event Name: Lord Of The Chain Rings 2014
When: 6 November 2014 - 8 November 2014
Where: Hogsback, Eastern Cape
Category: MTB

The Hogsback Lord of the Chain Rings MTB is a 3 day stage race with each day’s stage starting and finishing in Hogsback. 2014 will be its 5th year!

Riders will endure approximately 200km of varied terrain: forested single track, cattle track, jeep track and varied farm roads as they make their way to the finish line.

Our strategy is to provide a challenging, yet achievable stage range, where cyclist’s individual needs are of the utmost priority. Our cyclists need to feel that they have experienced true Eastern Cape Hospitality and a varied riding experience that only the Eastern Cape can offer. Riders will also notice our strong commitment to the communities along the way as well as the high-level of involvement and hospitality from the local community.

And to all those "old school" riders who say that medals and trophies are over-rated because they have acumulated so many over the years: The finishers medals and trophies custom and hand made for this event will surely be whipped out and displayed at many family gatherings for show-and-tell! You will have to see them and feel them, to believe them!

2014 Race Dates : 6 November 2014 to 8 November

Entry Fees

Included in the Full Team entry fee of R 9,000-00 is: Entry into the race for the two entrants, 4 nights full hotel accommodation and all meals, quality race tops and a goodie bag with some very indigenous goodies (sorry, no magic mushrooms till after the race!! :-) ) - Accommodation will be provided by the Hogsback Inn Hotel, Kings Lodge, The Edge,May Lodge & Nutwoods Park. If you want the above entry and want to stay in the Arminel Hotel, there is an additional R500 booking charge.

I think I'll be missing Thomas River, and doing the Sat ride. Let's hope that it doesn't rain too much over the week of the LOTCR. Riding in the Amatola's today was wet, but not too bad.
