I leave from near Cobble Walk over Tiekiedraai, through Botasig, over N7 to Montague Gardens.

About 26km. Takes me about an hour. Easy pace.

And the route is safe.

Just remember your lights. It's pitch dark going over Tiekiedraail.

There are a few guys that commute yes. Hope you join some of them.

I'm not sure where in Brackenfell you're at but my commute is from Cape Gate to Obs

There are 2 options you can take.

Via Durbanville (Tikkie Draai) nice route but make sure you have good light when its still dark

Via Frans Conradie then Uys Krige or you can continue further.

Good luck!

We travel the following route to the V&A Waterfront:-

Old Paarl Rd, Brackenfell

right at robots at Bellville High School

left into Darling rd (Bellville/Crismar)

straight over Bill Bezuidenhout along Mabel rd

straight over Durban rd along Frans Conradie

right at Giel Basson

along Giel Basson over N1 left at Bosmansdam

along Bosmansdam over N7

left at Koeberg rd

right at Loxton rd

follow cycling lane upto Milner St

left along Milner St (cycling lane)

follow the cycling lane into town

Where we go left at Milner St you could just continue straight past Milner to Paarden Eiland  On your way back you can even go over Contermanskloof if you would like to stretch your climbing legs abit

This interests me...I'm about 50m from the bus lane.

Might attempt my first ride next week.

How long will this take more or less?

I'll probably be doing this in reverse, once it's a bit warmer. But have to add getting from Hout Bay.

Anyone go through Pinelands in either direction?

That route should be closer to 30km and not 35km...my bad

Shweet!!

I googlemapped it and will work perfectly! i doubt it will be less than 35kms.

Thanks brother!

Did this today for the first time....finally!!

Took me about 1h25min from Protea Village, Brackenfell. Traffic is bit hairy along Bosmansdam, but otherwise, not too bad.
