Also wanted to enter (last night). It really sucks that people who are actually doing the W2W don't get preference to enter this race (it is a seeding event after all). None of the emails I received from PPA mentioned anything regarding a max amount of entries. #Fail

the decision to make this a seeded event was only decided on by the W2W organisers after entries opened. I received an email to let me know the event was a seeding event. No fail!

I opened this thread on the 5th, last Wednesday. I mention the W2W seeding as well. There would have been plenty of time to enter.

Entries stood at 795 on Friday.

I am very pleased that the response has been so good.

Make sure you enter this event in 2015. We are going to be adding another, challenging route. Once word spreads that there was trail run for the first time this year, I reckon a lot more trail runners will be joining us .

The long route attracted the most entries, just over 500 riders. I have recommended that the gaps between batches be extended from 2 min to at least 5min, possibly 7min. That way there shouldn't be too much bunching in the single track.

It looks like the weather is playing along as well.

thats sucks, me and my wife have entries and we aren't even doing w2w...

Yep, was waiting to see the weather forecast before committing. According to PPA it is to ensure that they have the necessary contingency in place for the event (ambulances, water stations etc).

I Wonder if this event replaces the free W2W Open Day they had last year for all the W2W riders (think it was the Oude Molen MTB before that).

I think quite a few people registered for that but failed to turn up (I was one of them...) because of the terrible weather on the day, not surprised if they replaced it with a proper race.

Anybody have a route profile for this race?

Hope you can recognise the route. The climbing is around 1000m, maybe a bit less.

I got this as an image, so can't call up a profile.

The new single tracks are included and if you rode the Houwhoek Tour, you will recognise most of this. It's a great route with a lot variety and a serious fun factor.

Good Question! I must check again, but Witklippies comes early on and then you head over towards the Thandi side. Huppeland is close to the Thandi farm stall.

Whichever way you start, the route is awesome.

That actually could be a good idea. Start the race and you can choose which way round the race goes! It could make for an interesting middle of the course.

just checked the website, but there isn't much info. The reason for this is simply that we only decided to host an event at Paul Cluver at short notice. The shorter routes are not going to kill you and will provide a nice balance between enjoyment and challenge for all level of rider. Kili Hill is a little beast though, but it is not that long. Once you cross the Witklippies bridge, you will have forgotten all about it though!

There are some cool lucky draw prizes on offer, so stick around.
