Could be cold air related, BUT - could also be an infection - take an EASY ride home and see how it feels in the morning.

Ride home was okay yesterday, tried to breath through my nose only. Felt much better than I felt at work after I got home, although I was wheezing really badly throughout the night. Hoping to feel better by Sunday so I can go for a ride.

How is the wheezing this morning? chest still constricted?

Very little wheezing, just lots of snot and phlegm.

Think I need to get me one those scarve thingies to put over my mouth and nose for early morning rides to prevent this from happening again.

So I made a mistake of riding when I wasn't 100% and ended up sicker than I've ever been. Picked up a virus from my son on top of my standard September allergies. On day 3 of antibiotics and steroids now and fever has dropped, but chest is still buggered. Can't even walk at a normal pace and I'm out of breath :-( Really bad couple of viruses going around the Cape at the moment.

That is way too long for it to be cold air related - I think you have some sort of infection - just take it easy till it clears, and if it gets worse, go visit your GP - he/she will be able to give you some symptomatic relief.

With training, the immune system is suppressed somewhat anyway. So, rolling down a hill exposed to thw windchill can naturally lead to a seer borsie. One needn't be ill or predisposed to illness beforehand, I reckon. (wtf is wrong with this keyboard at Virgin Active)
