Depends on the bike you putting it on, but a few things you need to check are...

For the Forks

1) steerer type (straight or tapered)

2)Thru axle or Quick release

3) travel (how much you want vs how much is recommended for your frame)

4) If you buying second hand double check what length the steerer has been cut to to make sure it will work for you.

For the rear shock

1) eye to eye length

2) stroke/travel length

Some of the more clued up guys here may have some more in put but thats all I can think of for now.

as for the lockout each shock/fork is specific to their own, best to google the one you are looking at.

Thanks guys, K I dont know a lot about suspension so might sound stupid but currently I have 120mm travel (when I measured it, the tape said 130mm is that possible) with quick release and a straight steerer. My rear one travel the tape measure said 80mm. I have measured eye to eye etc yet.

The reason for the upgrade is im building my dream bike so want to make sure all the stuff is correct. Do you think it is the safer way to go new as I can take it back if its wrong etc.
