I just put a 140mm revelation fork on a specialized camber comp 2014. It has a 110mm rear shock. Any thoughts, experiences, advice, comments?? Only riding it this weekend!

Stumpy runs a RockShox Revelation RC 130mm and it's quite similar to the Camber, so I cannot see it being a problem. Please let us know how the ride went.

Similar maybe because its the same brand yes. The 110mm at the back might turn into a 90mm with the 140mm upfront.

Why the difference? 3 or 4 cm's of extra fork travel surely won't compromise the rear shock that much? the camber evo runs a 120mm fork...so, we're talking 20mm's. Please explain.

Interesting... why would a manufacturer "threaten" the voiding of a warranty if one fits a different fork? Surely bikes are designed by very intelleigent people who calculate geometries and understand frame tolerances etc. Or are they just covering themselves?

Also, why are bikes not specced accordingly? If the OP is comefortable with the impact on his riding experience - that's his call - but potential damage to the bike is another story.

I was just guessing when I said 90mm. The only thing that is the same between the camber evo frame & the camber frame is... .

  1. Seat tube length – center to top

  2. Head tube height

  3. Handlebar width

  4. Stem

  5. Crank length

  6. Seatpost length

That means the following is not the same...

  1. Top tube length

  2. Chainstay length

  3. Bottom bracket height- low setting

  4. Seat tube angle

  5. Head tube angle

  6. Wheel base

  7. Standover height

Yes, some of the differences might be because of the 120mm pike upfront and the 120mm shock, but my point is the frames are not the same! So back to the Camber frame with 110mm front and back. It was designed by all those smart people @Spez for 110mm, a 30mm jump might cause the frame to be weak at certain points / void warranty or handling might be crap etc. I am very interested to know the results.

For me I still don't understand how the travel of the rear wheel would change. Maybe vertically, yes and minimally at that. But I doubt that the travel is measured in a purely vertically directionm rather along the arc of movement which wouldn't change
