I cycled the spruit yesterday and the pic above with the bridge (5th pic on post 7:28am 19 September) with electrical pylons in the background... none of that was there in place and looked like had been removed and was further down stream just laying there?

I see we go under the William Nicol near the pnp on the spruit - I foresee plenty of peeps going in the drink there unless that deceptively narrow concrete ledge is somehow widened. :D

Are those bits of purple tape currently dotted along the spruit something to do with JUMA?

I'm pretty sure you'll be climbing UP those stairs......

Wet shoes (after the tunnel ride - if that's the case) + smooth metal surfaces = lots of faceplants and damaged bikes.

Yup. We rode it last weekend, and believe me when i say its next to impossible to walk up those ramps with mtb shoes.... maybe if you had rubber soles it would work.

If there is any holdup people are going to be slipping all over the place.

If guys will be carrying their bikes up there, expect to get smacked in the face with a rear wheel by the guy in front of you.

Nevertheless, I'm excited for the event and hope I won't be spending the most of my time at bottlenecks.

Sorry y'all - was away for a few days training my "riding through donga puddles" skills (and beer drinking arm) out in the Wild Coast. Breaking in the new Scott Spark 960 :)

Have got all your important questions flagged and will make sure we get back to you!

Only 6 days till #HollardJUMA - hope you're excited!!

They should put a plank (bluiding plank works good) going up the stairs so one can push ones bike up it while walking the stairs....

good idea but those scaffolding stairs are near vertical, you might as well carry your bike.
