Hey all, I know sizing was quite a debate a while back, but I wanted to know if any of you saw this sizing chart?

And how do you think it stacks up to your experiences?

I am thinking of taking the plunge on a reign.

I am 1.84m tall with a 33" inside leg, according to the chart this would just put me at a large, but I would rather have a more playful, agile bike, so I am considering the medium.

You should be okay on that, Dave. Just had another look at the geo measurements and the medium still has a 620mm ett and a 444mm reach. Which is still very good and on par with other large size frames.

That vs a 640mm ett and (apparently) a 458mm reach.

in retrospect the choice between m and l is a lot less clear for people of our height And it does depend on how you want to ride it...

@ David Messem (dINGLE485)

If you are on Saturday @ Hakahana or Sunday @ Northern Farm. You can try my large Reign, if you like. I am 1,82 and have a inseam from 0,89.

Thanks NicNacDH, but I test rode a medium today and it felt like a good size.

I can just get full leg extension with the dropper at minimum insert, but the nice side effect of that is that the seat can go really low for the times I want to do some jumping or tear up a pump track :)

I'm going to pick it up tomorrow morning! really excited :D

Ja, see you have an 83cm inseam vs NicNacDH 89 and my 82 or so. So that extra little bit of length in the leg that NicNacDH has means that the large will fit him vs us having a problem with the dropper (nit normally a problem with a normal seatpost)

Good thing that the geo is still very favourable on the medium :)

You are absolute right with that!!!

I was really searching the net, and checking all measurements to make sure to order the right size, and luckily, i made no mistake.

It has been really good so far, but I have been experiencing quite a bit of bottoming out from the suspension.

My weight is around 82kg, so not exactly out of the expected range.

Initially I ran 1 token in the Pike with 25% sag, but it was bottoming out on around 1m drops and even smaller hops. I put another token in and tried it out at Giba, and had to resort to running 15% sage with the 2 tokens. I think I will try a third token, then maybe I can run my 25% sag while only bottoming out rarely.

The shock had been great from the start at 30% sag, but once I had the front hard at Giba it was the back having harsh bottoming out. Now I am trying to source some bottomless rings for the monarch debonair can.

How has everyone else experienced the suspension so far? Weights and sag settings?

standing. For both fork and shock, as that's where you spend most of the time on the way down.

That's what I thought. I just re-measured my sag, 18% front, 25% rear.

Does anyone know a shop that stocks the Monarch bottomless rings for shocks?

I don't have a Reign or a 650b but... I found my pike (29" on an Enduro) feels good with 3 tokens and 25% Sag. I started with 1 token and worked my way up to 3 keeping the sag at 25% throughout. With Less than 3 tokens it had fork dive in the corners like crazy!

When setting your sag make sure you are not just standing but you are fully kitted and in attack position.

Not sure if mine is set up correctly but...

I run 0 tokens at the moment and for 99.99% of the time it has been great. I weigh 88KG and 1.88m.

The fork has done some weird things on occasions though, I have hit road gaps and landed hard and not had bottom outs but other times had bottom outs dropping off things 1m or less if I land funny.

Afaik I have only had the shock bottom out once. Was doing the Gspot road gap and cased HARD.

Is the occasion bottom out bad for the suspension? someone once told me its not.

Congratulations on the new Reign

My hight off 1,82 and weight off 72 kg wont help you, figuring out the settings.

But, have you played around with the Compression/Charge settings?

I found that it made a bit off a difference for me.

Im 80kgs. Run my shock at 30% sag and my Fork at around 25, and shes plush, but still firm enough for virtually anything ive thrown at her so far. Think you might need to have someone take a look at your fork.

Stand to be corrected, but dont think there are tokens for the DebonAir shock, only the Pike fork.
