Hi All,

I have a QR frame and fork and a wheelset with 15mm thru axle hubs.

I have seen various conversion kits and everyone seems happy with what they have.

What i am looking for is an answer as to what you think is best.

What i would like is something like these,

but i cant seem to find if they work for my situation.

Thanks.

Hi Fanie,

yes that is one of the options,

however i would want to do away with the normal QR if possible.

I would ideally like a 15mm thru axle that adapts to the QR fork and frame.

What axle diameter and hub with have you got on the rear wheel?

That 15mm thru axle only applies to the front wheel. Chances are that if your read hub is a thru axle too then it's a 142x12mm.

But as mentioned by V12man, you should be able to get adapters for front and back, depending on hub model

If you want the RWS skewers, you'll need 9mm adapters for your wheels. By all reviews they're about as good as 9mm skewers get.

15mm and 9mm are two very different things, and you won't get a 9/15mm axle which it sounds like you're looking for. Adapters for the wheels and you're good to go.

Or just get a new bike to go with the wheels

So you confirmed what i thought.

Would think that it isnt a difficult item to machine for a big company and would get more guys onto Thru Axle wheels.

So i will get the adapters and possibly the RWS skewers as well.

Thanks for the help.

The wheels on their own won't give you any advantage without the interface on the fork, so there's no point really...
