OK....so let's jump in......

Jenna-Lee.

Just remember......the rules and regulations are there more to protect the riders..........in a sense that if the rules are not there and the risks of getting caught is 0 (Yes Chunky, I know....Tongue) then the TEAM would FORCE the riders to take stuff that might (?) kill them.

If it is NOT legal, the team cannot "force" anyone....

For me.....I have been cycling in the Elite bunch and the Sub-Vets bunch for about 14 years now.......and personally I think it is PATHETIC to dope just to keep up with the local guys......seriously....the racing is NOT that hard that you cannot compete on a top level with some hard training....

As for the Pro Peleton doing the Euro Circuit.....well, THAT is a different story........

I think there is NO amount of training that you can put in to compete successfully at top level in the overseas bunch........

And they don't just use orange juice.....Wink

Maybe slightly off topic, but Patrick Sinkewitz yesterday denied dropping his buddies Kloden & Kessler in the S%#t by naming them as his traveling companions to the Freiburg University for a doping trip. He went further to say that doping brought a 2-5% increase in performance & that it does not turn a donkey into a race horse. He calculates the cost of him being caught at over 1 million Euro. That must be the most expensive tube of testosterone gel ever.

The biggest problem imo if doping ever gets legalized would be to retain sponsors. CSC, Tmobile, Discovery all pulling out of cycling, some of them because they dont want their brand to be associated with dopers. Even if dope were allowed, some sponsors would still feel that pro cyclists are a bunch of dopeheads, and would not want to be associated with cycling.

2 very big & high profile teams are already looking for sponsors for 2009, looks like the pros are cheating themselves out of their salaries.
