i agree - the ppa dont cater for the roadies anymore and they were losing members to the clubs who have rides every weekend for just the price of annual subs.

Thats true, PPA get all their money from a road event yet they spend very little on road events. If they committed to putting on events every Sunday from Sept till March there would be far fewer cyclist accidents.

I will support them for the cheaper entries at the few events they do have, but am going to keep asking for more road events. Now that I know who is on the committee they may be getting regular emails from me :D

This does not sound right. Has your colleague put in a call to the Cycle Tour Trust yet to enquire why he did not get the VIP option? Not yet in Club 21 myself, but believe they have a seperate VIP process. (Club21 is for those that have completed more than 21 Tours and you then receive a permanent number.)

He was out of the country when the invite came-aparently only had like 5 hours to enter!

Btw he is an old toppie of 70, so he tends to forget things :whistling:

I am 110% sure a phone call will sort this out very quickly, especially with the whole push on social media about heritage and the people that have done the most tours.

Get him to call the office. There is no way they will turn him away if he says he was out of the country and unable to get to the web during the initial entry time. Get him to do it today. As other charity and international entries fill up it will be more difficult for the organisers to deal with this.
