You're right, it should be a BA rant. I had only being looking at the flight to PE which is only operated by BA. When booking flights to Cape Town, you can compare the difference between Kulula and BA, Kulula's taxes are in order of magnitude less than BA's

I think there is something about BA being a foreign carrier operating locally and are therefore they are charged higher taxes which they kindly pass on to shaft you, the customer.

Which in turn you can thank SAA/government for strangling any type of competitiveness against said national carrier.

Nope - the carrier is actually Comair - an SA company.  They trade as a franchisee of BA - so the only thing British about them is the brand
