The engineers who designed these must be fired. Problem is the lever attaches with a thread that runs same direction, so if it loosens this happens. Bikeshop had to bucher mine out and then r600 for a replacement.

Mine works as follows.....

do not pull 1st and then turn!

just turn it as is in a counter clockwise direction

(I think the 'pull and turn' is to place the lever in a 'correct' angle like you prefer it when you ride or tighten/loosen it)

Hi Cobus,
1st. You pull out wards , then turn QR lever counterclockwise...
Unfortunately you have already grased it quite badly, that might make it harder to release...
Good luck!
:)

This is not a QR.

They can get pretty tight... remember..... lefty loosey, righty tighty.... :)

When you refit it, put some copperslip on the threads AND on the axle (saves you hunting for some odd noises sometimes....) - just a very thin layer.

Correct, mine works exactly the same.

Just unscrew it. The pull and turn bit is to reposition the lever if the frame gets in the way when unscrewing, or when it's fully tightened to get it out of the way.
