The stanchions were the wrong way round installed in the lowers, and after a few pointed it out, he got very defensive and angry. Was moer funny.

It's because that's a dual crown fork that takes a normal stem (it has a normal steerer) but a Quill stem has been put in... So there's pretty much nothing for the upper crown to hold on to. But he's fixed it with a spacer,,,

Hairy Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Can't find any pics now, but once used a stick found on the side of a trail to fix a McGuyvered SS tensioner at Tokai when the proper one exploded ... anyway, the stick fix tensioner served me well for a month or two after that. Pic below is taken riding the bike later in the day after the fix
