Seeding and ignorant organizers

I recently entered the Pretoria Beast of the east race as it was advertised as a SA Seeding related event. It now has been two weeks and no results are up on SASeeding.com. But I could see other races going up even though happening after the race I entered. I have been in contact with SASeeding but they say the the organizer have not given them the results yet.

Maybe I am paranoid but I really need this race to count for my seeding and sooner rather than later. There is so many rules and things affecting seeding that timing in partaking in seeding events can be strategic and important. I think greater care should be taken by overseeing bodies to make sure they affiliate with responsible event organizers and that they should put greater pressure on organizers of events.

Does anyone else have the same problem.

I gave up chasing ceding and started just riding.  Amazingly, only then did my ceding improve.  Ride groenkloof, Wolwespruit, red barn, klapperkop and fountains until you are dialled and then kick ass on the races......

Yes that is so but races weigh less after some time and I can not race all the time so when I do I want it to count when I need it.

I agree with Paddaman. Also, if seeding is very important to you try to do more races. There will always be the odd disappointment where things don't work out ie the situation above, winning time by some short route rider, some unfair penalty to the seeding, you having a bad day etc. But in time with a bit of patience your seeding will reflect your ability and you won't look back.

It was not just my results affected but the entire race have not yet been posted. I would love to race more but training already puts stress on family life so when I do it I would love my results to count

If one ride is going to effect your seeding that much it means you are not riding enough and if you are not riding all that much then your seeding does not really matter that much. Ride hard but enjoy your riding and the seeding will look after itself.

YES organizers should be prompt !!

Your opinion noted but it will affect my seeding and it does matter. I also had two races ending up afecting me negatively because of mechanical fails. It is now almost 3 weeks sins the event and nothing yet. But please defend the wrong and turn this on me.

In the previous event I did I managed to almost half my seeding from the previous race. But because it is weighted over 3 races I wanted to get more races in before my target event. The  race in question I think I came in 29th which I think would have further improved my seeding.

I train hard and I had a specific race in mind. I spend money on my bicycle just to break it again during these events and I enter with money I earned and spend my weekend time doing these events. Therefore I take care in which races I enter and would like them to count.

It is also hubbers that lambast you when you complain about race traffic and saying one has to improve on ones seeding.

It is further also hard to only partake in races from one timekeeping/seeding organizing body. Also in some events one only enter for the experience. Fact is those that are supposed to count must count.

porqui I find your comment referring to my efforts to compete a little heartless

1. Ok SASeeding said they did not receive the results. Apparently I am not the only complainant.

2. dirtx (organisers on behalf of sponsors) did not answer my mail so I called them. They acted surprised that racetime the timekeepers did not hand over the results to SASeeding as if my call was a suprise. Dirtx.co.za website has races on their calendar but failed to post any results on their own website for the past few years.

3. Racetime: I can google their website but racetime.co.za seems to no longer exist (Website not found)

I have seen a lot of defending organizers on this forum now lets look at what is happening around us.

There is my complaint.

There is the fact that a great amount of JUMA participants where not 100% satisfied and infact some very disappointed.

Another race I entered earlier this year decided to not happen after I paid. I am still waiting on my refund.

There is the Munga postponing.

It seems like the whole avalanche of timed events is running away from the CSA

Is it just a case of the results not being mailed to saseeding or have the results not been available at all?

If it is the latter I think you can accept the timekeepers messed up and you won't see any results on saseeding, only thing the organisers can do about that is fire the timekeepers and use new ones next year.

I feel your pain but I still say, if you are as serious about your seeding as it appears to be - Make a plan and do more races! I promise you the guys in the front groups didn't get their good seeding by doing the minimum number of races and everything working out perfectly.

It really is not that hard to get a seeding that reflects your ability despite the flawed seeding systems used for our events.

The only reason I'm interested in seeding is so that I'm not required to ride in the heat and therefore enjoy my ride much more.

I've done no races this year and am still starting at 07h11 on 94.7.

Do they use last year's results?

Ok Vlieg you have given me a bit of perspective.

You have basically had a tough run - feel for you.

Many guys just moan without having put in the effort.

Still say ENJOY your riding - that is what it is about - if not stop.

SAS use your best 3 results, so if you have a bad race it does not handicap you. Also easy flat races like the Beast of the East do not carry much weight as far as seeding goes same for races like Babbas Lodge. You have to do the harder races and get good results there if you want a decent seeding.

The results were posted on a pillar during the event but after that nothing. Anyway will do some more races as recommended but I also want to do races tot affiliated with SASeeding for instance race tech or fun races.

I did Van Gaalens and The Monster but in both got my Chain snapped and some other Mechs. I also did other stuff like a 24Hr solo race which does not count for seeding and night races. In this case the race would have helped me. I only started racing this year and have trained very hard. I actually enjoy the training very much but once a while would like to make it count. I am not a top 10 but can surely be a top 10% if I get to start in a better position not behind slower folks
