What a lekker day it was!!!!

I woke up at the obscene time my alarm went off, knowing there was gonna be some *** I decided to roll over and spoon with the Mrs

She got a temp report from 2 of her mates doing it, I got chilly listening to that, snuggled in a bit closer.

Woke up again at 8am, had an awesome cup of coffee with biscuits and a fire heating the lounge.

Cruised to the shops at 12 and then to a braai in the afternoon, sucked back a good few beers.... day was great.

I didnt fall in any water

I didnt get cold

Great success of my Van Gaalens day

Think we rode together most of the time, was in the Lynnwood Cycle Club kit on a Spez Epic. Were you on the Cannondale?

haha - yes, was on the Cannondale.. that 34 upfront was just too much for me on that last climb at 100km, the power left my legs.. thanks for the company, it helped between 60 and 100km..

I did not do the race and I only do mountain biking, but I wonder why some one would say something like that - does the trails belong to any one? If you don't have the patience and sportsmanship perhaps you should leave the trails that  APPARENTLY belongs TO YOU?

Someone that he thinks that hen should be in A batch but start on F batch

It was a great day out! Yeah, the 40 minute delay (in D) at the bridge sucked, but once we hit the trails after the bridge it was all forgotten.

I rode the entire Jou Baas descent for the first time ever, which felt quite good. I stil do understand people walking it, it's not your everyday run-of-the-mill descent.

Van Gaalens remains an MTB gem.

I thought that was one climb too many! You squashed my thoughts of changing to a 34t though. Ja, thanks to you too, it definitely helped

on any other (shorter) course, I think 34 is perfect, nice for the flats as well, it was just too much for too long that I wasn't prepared for...

Ja, most of the Trailseeker races and such. But for the Ultra's a 32t is close to perfect (if you exclude that one climb, then perfect).

I thoroughly enjoyed the Marathon.

Yes I swore non stop on all the climbs and the last major descent and I walked a lot of stuff aswell as taking a swim on that dodgy floating bridge  but it showed me what I need to work on and areas I need to improved. It was a good day out indeed and next year will most probably be back to try conquer everything I battled with.

Quick question, the timing from Saseeding is it based on the 1st batch set of time or your batch set off time?

Posted this in Lost and Found as well.

I found a GoPro Hero 3 while taking part in the marathon race At Van Gaalen this past weekend (06\06\2015). I picked it up at the 35km mark. It contains some footage of a family doing a ride at The Big Red Barn. Here are some screenshots taken from the GoPro. Apologies for invading your privacy a bit but I thought taking some screenshots might help the owner get his GoPro back a bit easier.

That is indeed my gopro..  thank you so much for your honet,, I will PM you.
