Last time I was on a bike I broke my left clavicle ,was still in high school then. The amazing feeling of being back in the saddle makes me regret all these lost years,but well I'm back now. I need your help and knowledge as I am certain the wealth of experience from you fellow members will be better than any sales pitch at a cycling store. I purchased a Merida big nine 300 29er MTB and I am very happy with her but am looking at now getting a road bike. I love the Merida brand and have seen many beautiful road bikes. I am looking for a decent second hand one with shimano 105 group set as a minimum and a carbon frame. Any ideas as I got a budget of about 10k to 15k. I will keep my MTB for off-road . You will get a 2013 Sculturo EVO 904 (105) or 905 (Ultegra) for around the R10 -12k mark. These are Carbon frames and forks. The Race Lite or Ride Lite are about R7 - R8k. These are Alu frames and carbon forks. On 2012/14 Merida bikes, 901 is Sora, 903 is Tiagra, 904 is 105, 905 - 907 is Ultegra or a combo of 105 and Ultegra and DA is....Dura Ace. One last thing. If you have lots of hills near you, look for one that has a 10 - 28 cassette or close to that.

MohammedJeewa Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 HEy guys. Thanks for all the advice. I got a Merida scultura 905 full carbon with ultegra group set.took it out this morning and it is an absolute dream to ride. I settled for a new one as I got a great discount.
