Understanding shock tune - Rebound/Velocity/Boostvalve

I have a shock on a 26 Anthem that I am building up for me. I noticed the shock has bee tuned. But cant seem to figure out exactly what it means or what the implication is

Boostvalve 300

Velocity F

Rebound L

Any help would be appreciated. It appears the Boostvalve so high will make it very firm. I like that. But no idea how to interpret the others?

Thanks!

The L "Low" on rebound refers to the high speed shim stack on the piston of the shock. Generally set by the bike mfg and FOX as an ideal setting for a certain air pressure range. Light for lower air pressure settings, Medum for mid level air pressure settings, Firm for higher air pressure settings. So for you with a "L" the rebound will be the fastest of the three possible settings.

The Velocity rating is for the speed sensitivity of the compression damping so "F" is going to give a Firm compression, while the boost setting refers to the amount of Propedal and position sensitivity built into the compression damping force curve. Higher velocity ratings and boost ratings indicate increased levels of compression, while lower ratings indicate less. At 300 you are very high.

This is all dependant on your frames leverage ratios, which on the Anthem are high.

Thanks Spoke. I am starting to understand. I think :)

300 on the boost means that on pro-pedal it will be as close to lockout as the shock will allow? Also the F compression damping will add to this on settings where propedal is off? However it seems the Light rebound is in contradiction with the other two? As in the shock appears to be set up for a heavier person on Compression/Boost but for a lighter person on Rebound? Or am I missing the boat?

thanks.

thanks Droo,

but I am not sure yet how it wold affect the performance of the shock. Is my interpretation correct?

Thanks
