So, i would just like to have my final say in this matter because some hubbers had their fair share at this one.

I was in the process of arranging a sponsored race for 2015 when this thread came up.

I could understand the frustration from an sponsor or an organizer point of view, hence why i said what i said in my first post.

After all this, i think it was a good thing for this to happen, because it definitely opened my eyes to this sport in terms of sponsorship and organizing and the burden that comes with it.

I seems also clear based from the comments, that this sport does not need sponsors aboard, because there seems to be many. ( according to comments)

So i have decided to spend my 90k in a different sport that would appreciate the help, because after all, the proceeds would go to charity.

Thank you for assisting me with my decision

Cheers

Excellent.

I for one will not mourn your "it is someone else's problem" approach to life.

See you around.

You are in my perception of your posting on this thread, just making your name "chop"

  1. 90K ... if you were going to "invest" that, you would surely do so with a return of sorts, I am sure you are not running a charity.
  2. you came across as beng "OK" with the use of off limit trails and features built by others at their time and expense, to be used for your benefit and profit
  3. my personal view is that "sponsors" who enter the sport to only make a quick buck and not develop the sport, who instead put the sports future at risk by potentially harming relationships or land access, are actually not welcome
  4. you made your own decision in your last post as to what you want to do with your 90K ..... the thread is clear on what is deemed as unacceptable practice by organisers.

Boo hoo.

So instead of ensuring that you are going to do everything properly (arranging landowner permissions, proper route planning, post-race cleanups, water tables and respect of existing trails) you're high-tailing it out of the MTB events world because it's too much work, and people complain when things aren't being done properly?

If you have another look at the thread, you'll see that you have pretty much all the information that you'll need to ensure a smooth operation from a route planning and PR point of view, as well as ensuring that you have all the ducks in a row.

Or did you just think it'd be a cakewalk?

I was going to say something but these two posts pretty much cover what I wanted to. Hear that? It's the worlds smallest violin.

You guys are such jerks I'm not going to use my 650 brazillion zars to sponsor all off you. I was going to. Really. Promise scout honour and stuff but because two parties solved an issue amicably I'm going to use the money turn all the transgender prostitutes in Thailand back into whatever sex they were before.
