Castelli Sizing

So, Christmas came earlier for me. Just found out that some of my family from Switzerland will be coming down here next month and they came with the usual "anything you want us to bring down for you?".

Well, I have had my eye of a Castelli jersey, which I could never afford here, but can definitely afford if I can avoid customs on this side, as well as cash in on winter clearance sales on the EU online stores.

I have heard that the Castelli sizing chart is completely useless and that their jerseys fit very small and you should probably go up a size? I'm 6'1, have a 36" (89cm) chest and am super think - weighing at 64kg. Would you reckon I go for a L or perhaps even go bigger? I've been using my fathers old Santini jersey which is XL and its pretty snug on me. So, really don't know. I find normally that I am a different size in very different brand.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wear a large Assos and bought a large Castelli once from a hubber. The Castelli seemed to be a size smaller though. Cyclelab stocks Castelli if you wanna go and try a jersey on. Good luck.

Also have a Castelli bib in size M and my other bibs are S. Also have a Castelli long fleece jersey in L a snug fit. My other jackets and jerseys are M. So a size up should do.

I just returned from a trip in the EU. Bought a Castellini bib and jersey combo branded with Sidi for euro 98.00. Both bib and jersey - can't help believing we are being ripped by the importers in SA. Take a size larger for jersey as they are tight but bibs are similar to Craft, etc.

Are bibs sized by your height or waist size?

If you are 6.1 but only 64kg that's a bit of a conundrum as you need the length but the smaller waist, wouldn't L or XL be a bit baggy around the waist and loose in general?
