What's the difference between this and the i-25 frequency?

70grams and some stickers as far as i can see

although im a fan of having the correct tool for the job, so i would use the frequency at the back because of the larger impacts it has to deal with and the KOM at the front, cause it can afford to be lighter

rim quality update, started finding flat spots on the rear rim, nothing big or worth worrying about, but they are there and im only like 4 months into owning these rims.

like i said in the review

they are cheap, light and stiff, but durable is still to be determined...

and its not looking promising.

still, i dont regret buying these rims, they were an experiment, and experiment results can go either way, and i knew that going in.

How are the oozy rims holding up now? What do you think of the new spike evo rims

With the exception of the Spike evo and Subrosa rims I have built wheels from every rim mentioned above (and a lot of others).  After much deep reflection I conclude the following:

1) Durability is good.

2) If you stick to these and other well known brands - you are very unlikely to get "bad" rims - just bad luck!

3) Choose two that you think are best suited to your needs and then spin a coin.  You can then blame any future problems on your "luck".

the rear rim has some pretty bad flat spots, but is still stiff and running tubless fine, although i have spotted some stans leaking through the nipples.

these rims can take a beating, but they do show it, i know how to pull out flat spots but i dont have the confidence to do it myself.

if i could do it over again, id go 1 of 2 options

1.

spank ooxy trail 295 rim for the front and spike enduro for the back, get them in the same colour so you can only tell if you concentrate

2.

wtb i-25 KOM rim for the font and i-25 frequency for the back

Loving my Spanks, been giving them a fair bit of a hammering and they are still sitting pretty. Glad I moved that way rather than the Oozys. Had a hell of a time getting a rear thru axle convertor from the local guys or even the international agents. that said most of it seemed to be down to SAPO.

I25's Freq's are on the cards next. Front and back just to make sure the collars match the cuffs.

Silly questions now, but what are flat spots and what could flat spots result in after a period of time?

Is this the only thing to be concerned about when going trail oozy 295?

Flat spots are on the lip of the rim

Can be caused from a tyre lever or from a knocking a root hard enough due to low pressure.

Eventually if its pretty bad then tubeless wont seal

then what is a ding?

This is the closest I could find to the flat spot I am trying to describe, but this is very severe

and this is a ding
