Bat1 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Hi. Helping my brother comparing 29er MTB's around R15000. I've got a XTC, but Giant does not make them any more, only in carbon. We had a look at the Silverback Sola 1 and 2, Scott Aspect 910 and the Scott Scale. They are between R13000 and R16500. My brother is quite big, 1.9m and 105kg. Would appreciate some help, thanks.
Brickleberry Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Silverback sola 1 is really decent. Much better components than you will get on a Scott for the same money. Also look at marida. Think the full xt 29er is only about 17. frames are very similar so go for something with the best components for sure.

CraigCCW Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Got a Sola 1 last year, love the bike. Only issue is the Crests only lasted about 8 months, I weigh 100kgs. I have since changed to Arch's. Here is mine with Arch's, I think it looks much better with black rims as opposed to the white Crests.
