2014 Giant Trance 2 - 650B rear dropout

I'm new to; firstly this 650B arena as well as full suspension. Loving it!!

Removing my rear wheel the other day whilst cleaning the bike, the rear drop out is not "fixed" onto the frame. It fits like a puzzle into a slot designed for it on the rear triangle. What a slight mission to try re-engage the wheel without buggering up the inner rear triangle with the rotor whilst trying to line up the axle and hold the "loose" dropout in place - not impressed with this bit of engineering. Anyone else have similar experience? or am I glitching over nothing?

Frustrating! I'm thinking....what happens when you get tyre issues (ok - I am running tubeless)....it's going to be hell frustrating!!

It sounds like a part might be missing, mine is fixed with a little screw that inserts from the inside (cassette side)

Mine has a little screw. I did have an issue with mine though, somehow, when the LBS assembled my trance, they got a small burr caught between the dropout and the frame which caused it to not seat correctly in that groove. The alignment would be out and I would struggle like crazy to get the wheel/axle in.

I took it apart, removed the burr and cleaned it up. Now it works perfectly.

As you mentioned....yes I see that tiny little screw but it still doesn't hold the dropout/hanger sufficiently in place and it would seem the tension on the rear derailure and chain (on the smallest cog) keeps pulling sideways. As quoted:..."It fits like a puzzle into a slot designed for it on the rear triangle".... (Once in,,,,the bike rides like a dream....)

BUT to all you guys as well, thanks for all the responses. I will take it up with LBS and the rep....maybe can advise....
