I'm getting one of these in the next few days - it seems like they can be fitted with different colour springs according to rider weight, however I haven't been given the option of which spring it comes fitted with - is this something I need to make sure of? I know its a combo spring/air shock...

All you need is a pump, as far as I know the color spings is just for spring forks, I had an 2013 Recon Gold and I only used a pump to pump some air into the air chamber. The new forks may be different but as far as I know you don't need color springs.

Lol.. Yeah. I have a recon gold and yip, just air. I weight about 90kg and find that 130psi gives the right amount of sag and doesn't bottom out either. Rebound I run exactly in the middle... But you might need to play a bit with pressure till you find what works for you.

Aah, Ja... Get yourself a flat rubber washer, slit it and slip it around one of the stanchions, will help you check sag and how much of the travel you use.

Read the chart on the back of the air leg for pressure guidelines.

The fork comes with a shock pump insist that you receive it.

Tell me more? Always? Even if it came as a part on a new bike?

Not with a bike.

If you buy a fork as a built up bike or as replacement for a broken one you get the pump in the box.

If you are buying a bike OEM fitted with a fork, a shock pump is not included. In this case it is something you will pay extra for.
