I see on velonews.com that they will be selling 600 Record groupsets with Red shifters to the public.

...at first. Then in about 4months from now every groupset will come with the red writing!!

I have a koki if you wanna 'redden' your levers up? Just PM me...

I think the stiffer springs in the shifters makes sense, I would also prefer a bit more stiffnes when shifting.

They could have gone for any colour, but chose red to steal some of SRAMs thunder.

These Record red shifters will cost the same as normal Record shifters, it remains to be seen if they will become astandard option.

Shimano & Campy will be launching totally revamped DuraAce & Record in September, so perhaps it is realy a limited run of 600 Record Red gruppos.

All the parts in the campy shifters are available for order as replacement parts. I wonder if that will be the case with Record Red, too. Then I can order only the springs.

Competitive cyclist has them for sale as a stand alone item:

Looks like they will cost about R4900 (compared to R3000 for a standard set)

The link above has got a nice review of the red shidters as well, basically saying that they are not nice.

From some of the other cycling forums on the net, it seems as if the "new" springs may actually be standard springs from the 2001 Ergo shifters.

Not for me thanks! For A cool extra R1900, sombody else can help clear some of their old stock.

There is indeed a big diff in the shifting between the older and newer campag. The older campag had a very hard shift. So I would not be surprised if they are using old springs and fooling a few suckers....
