Suspicious Times on Racetec

I have mentioned this on another thread but 2 years ago at the Burger Cycle tour there was a "big boned" middle aged guy with a mtb & camelback who was seeded with the elites due to a similar short route/long route mix-up error thing. He was dropped before all the riders even left the starting chutes...  ^_^

I believe Racetec is very accurate but there is definitely inaccuracies slipping through, however I believe mostly unintentional. tbh I'm not very fussed about other people's seedings anymore, only mine. If someone "cheats" to work the system it is their problem, being in a group that you are not strong enough to keep up with will end up hurting you more than being in a group with cyclists with similar ability.

Quite interesting to look over the racetec site. I'd say the first 6 female riders in the Value Logistics 96km are worth investigating. From 7 onwards the average speed over different races appears more logical.

There are a few of male riders (the first rider from each group FL, GL and IL) of the same race which also have dramatic speed improvements. Didn't bother looking further.

Why would you want a better seeing if you're just going to get dropped by your group?  I don't get it...

Exactly! besides you'll probably end up with a slower time than if you had just ridden with your proper group.

But for the Argus you could start up to 2 hours earlier. If you do a solo slog in any event instead of a bit of group riding there is definite merit in trying to get an early start.

they don't get dropped. The blokes know they're sacrificing themselves so they pull the girls all along the route. The girlie just sits there behind the okes head tucked down and goes for it.

Next they getting sponsors and sponsored entries for big events like that mtb thingy that's coming up in March.

the blokes think they're doing the girls a favour but In my book its cheating. Sure eventually they may get to the required level but I see it as a watered down legal version of motor pacing in events
