Carbon saddle (NO PADDING)

I use a full carbon saddle. It's great.

I don't get the need for padding on a saddle. Even the padded ones are hard with like a mom of padding. There is more padding in your shorts. Don't see why saddle padding is an issue at all..

What is important is fit. More speciifically the width

Hi Gents.....

I did a 4 hour race this past weekend and since the race my privates [emoji14]h34r: been numb......

Ok so you raced at the weekend and when you posted this 3-4 days later your nethers are still numb? ????????????

Am I the only one to find this a bit concerning? I would have been off to the doc the next day.....and that saddle in the bin.....especially since you have another bike with a saddle that does not do this to you.

as stated it's not the padding or lack of padding that causes numbness, setup setup setup [emoji2]

I used google to help me with the severity of the numbness and according to them, its very common, so didn't stress to much

I swapped my saddles out this weekend and took the bike for a 5 hour test , absolutely no problems .

So conclusion:

Had nothing to do with bike set up and I kept it exactly the same only thing that changed was saddle.

Hi Gents ,

Need some advise regarding the above mentioned,

I did a 4 hour race this past weekend and since the race my privates   been numb. This was my first long ride on my newish bike with a super soft well padded saddle.

I have been doing some research on this topic and most evidence concur that it is caused by my saddle,

Seeing that I am looking at a new saddle , I was thinking why not go pure carbon( no padding)

Based on my two bikes , the one with very little padding is much more comfortable on the long rides then the super soft one ...

SOOOOO.....

Have any of you gone pure?

Does it work for you?

Tnx

I changed to a carbon saddle no padding. The most comfortable I have had. The padding is in your shorts anyway, so why extra on the seat? I bought mine from Aliexpress China (Bontrager) It has the hole cutout in the middle. The only part of carbon is for your sit bones. Done two over 100k races and very happy.
