I am stupid, I dont care for my bike and all..

Went to KZN for a week, took bike along, did not rince off when I got back.

How do I get rid of the rust?  You guys living on the coast must know

Once the rust is there it's yours for good.

My Mtb  brake levers cannot adjusted as the bolts are rusted and the allen key will not work.

Yes, The bike has been used soley at the coast and near the equator. Hot and steamy climate , but why do they supply plain mild steel bolts on the brake levers?

Geez, how bad is the rust?  You should only have a bit of surface rust for that amount of "coastal exposure". Probably a little on the spokes, disks (if applicable) shocks etc. try a little Q20 (soak for a while) and a rub off with a little mutton cloth.

Q20 also, when applied liberally, might loosen bolts that are corroded fast.

My bike got a serious rust infection over December . Stripped all down , threw it into a bin filled with diesel . Two weeks later when I took them out they looked almost like new .
