After scouring the internet for facts, I cant see where it says that he is going to ride PR.

Only that he's joining Etixx Quickstep on a recon ride of the route to give advice (seeing how he won it 4 times) and the team confirmed there is a 1% chance he starts on the 12th April.

Found this on a side note:

Good news for us avid fans, and teams like MTN Q..

The big plans to make a reform of the UCI WorldTour for the 2017 season have been cancelled. De Telegraaf reports that the UCI has been under pressure from organizers and teams and have decided to put the plans temporarily on hold.

The federation was planning to reduce the number of race days from 153 to 120. Teams would be reduced from 30 to 22 riders and a promotion and relegation system for the World Tour was also part of the plans.

Last November UCI president Brian Cookson presented his plans for the reform of the cycling calendar. There was a lot of resistance from race organizers and cycling teams but the Brit wanted to continue his plans. Last week the UCI, ASO (Tour de France organizer) and AIOCC (the association of organizers) met in Geneva and according to the Dutch newspaper, they decided to pospone the reform.

According to teams and organizers, the uncertainty surrounding the new calendar would deter sponsors. The UCI has accepted to postpone their changes until the economic situation has improved.

Pretty much, you'll have to go back to rooting for Wiggins :nuke:

Where I'm from that means something completely different and would be even worse for Gen! :)

The message from the team is that he still wants to race PRB, but he's going to do a recon of the Flanders course with the team tomorrow to see how things feel on the cobbles, with the actual press release about his decision scheduled for the next day, i.e. Thursday.
