Argus sub 3 Time line guide

Ramster - not trying to be nasty but unless you are in the right group you are not going to do a sub-3.

Time-split charts are useless. Everything depends on the conditions of the day and what the group is doing.

My advice, forget about sub 3, go out and ride as fast as you can and enjoy the day. Next season use your good Argus time as a launchpad to a better seeding and then a sub-3

Have to agree.  Last year I was 100% prep'd for a sub-3.30.  Started very strong and even led the group for a bit but unfortunately I fall apart in the wind and I managed to lose contact after a while.  It was a very sad 4.04.  However we do get wiser as we get older and I plan to sit right in the middle of the 2C the whole way. Maybe this year.

I was opposite.  I was aiming for a 4h last year and got a 3h30

A number of sub threes later and I have never remembered or looked at that pace chart during the race. Just suck wheel like a boss and dont get dropped, its not like you are going to solo away from the bunch. Ride smart not hard thats what the Argus is about

That's would be a perfect plan,

Problem I see is that WE will need to set the pace

10 minutes from bottom of suikerbossie....Damn ramster, have you been visiting Mr Armstrong?

I agree that is optimistic to say the least and hence the reason I asked for help

Definitely not bottom before climbing, From 12 apostles its about 10-11km. Either way he will have to pull out a super human effort

That's correct , bottom is after climb.

Ja Ja Ja,,,are you the one that's been in my head all this time? :whistling:

I know scuba and you are 100% correct.

But first time doing Argus and getting the sub 3 would be a killer for Bragging rights.

And seeing that im doing it first time and only been cycling for a few months .....why not just go for it.

The way I see it  , I will need to pace according the 3hours landmarks. If the group helps me out...great , if not... I will still try and achieve them.

Rather fail trying then fail without even trying, my 2c
