So Captain, the Advanced frame is then exactly the same frame as the Advanced SX frame? Just more funky colours?

Sounds dumb but color makes a difference to me...

Dealer made a mistake and gave me the 2014, then offered to swap for a 2015... I opted to take a cash back as I prefer the Matt black over the blue. And the rest of the bike is the same minus the double side wall rims..

Anthem Advanced SX.  Pity Giant SA don't want to bring them in.

If Giant brought this bike in I would be -R65k so maybe it a good thing I can`t get it in SA.

I had the same decision to make 2 weeks ago. Trance vs Anthem SX vs Anthem X 29.

I love single track riding and exploring new areas for fun. I come from MX and Offroad racing background so I enjoy blasting the downhills etc. BUT I have stopped racing Offroad motorcycles to focus on Xterra en other multisport events. I am not competing I am just partaking. I chose the Anthem SX 27.5 and have done some lekker Cederberg riding and Xterra last weekend. It is very good in the Sngletrack stuff and when it is more XC riding it does very well for me. I am no racing snake so maybe I am missing some thing for the more experienced MTB riders. My dad has a Anthem X adv 29 so I tested that I found at my lentgh and use the 29 was no so comfy for me.  My mate has a Trance 27.5 and loves his bike.

I did my 1st rides, but only commuting rides. will take it to "the track" Saturday for the USN

But on my commute to work today, in the rain I knocked a few of my own strava segments PR's.... granted its only 11km.

My previous bike was the anthem x29.

Decide which one is your number 1 priority and then buy the bike that is most suited to that.

The 650B Trance is firstly a trail bike, ideal for even the rougher stuff, but it will also handle a marathon well, as long as you are not trying to race for podium.

The Anthem is a race bike and in 29er shape the ideal thing for marathons, but it will also serve well as a decent trail bike, as long as you stay away from the bigger jumps and drops.

(I have a 650B Trance and love it) The way I see it, you cannot really go too far wrong as it is!

So just wanted to give some feedback on my 650B Trance.

Did the 50km USN event, and yes I know last year was wet but I knocked every single stava segment PR I did last year on my anthem x 29er.

Finished and felt strong. I actually feel much more confident on it. But I ride it fully open on front and back.
