Spoke101 Posted March 27, 2015 Share Was talking to a youngster today who told me plastic bag flew into his wheel and foooked up his DI2 deraileur. Shimano stopped producing them now his stuck. Could that be right? I'm stocking up on cassettes and chains to last me the next 5 years. That is indeed true and there is no stock of 10spd shifters or derailleurs left.Luckily you don't have to change your whole groupset if something goes wrong as the shifters are just switches and all the software is the actual derailleurs. So the youngster could get away with using an 11speed rear derailleur it his software is up to date but the front derailleur will not auto trim. For this he would need to change both derailleurs.
