Hi Guys.

Some details for the Enduro that will be taking place at Cascades in PMB on 3 April 2015.

It will be a 3 stage race, but the stages will be long, running from the top to the bottom of the park.

Great news is that there will be shuttle assistance for some of the stages, so included in your entry is at least 2 free lifts to the top of the hill.

The trails are amazing, many of them never raced before, and there will be live timing displayed on a big screen at the festival hub.

Don't miss out on a great days fun riding.

You can get more details at:

See you on the hill.

Hi David,

Would there be shuttles for practice? I For one would gladly pay extra for that.

We'll be driving down from Joburg, and peddaling up for pratice runs on race day is never fun.

Thanks!

We're still ironing out the finer details as we also have shuttles for the DHI practice running at the same time.

Like I said, it will be at least 2 shuttles on the day, hopefully more. (split between practice and race).

There will be some pedaling on the day as this is not downhill but the emphasis will be on fun technical trails and not on spending all day slogging up hills.

I'll post final details as soon as I have them.

super keen for this event !

Its a pitty that the night stage is no longer.

Will it only be a 3 stage race?

A night stage would have been real fun. But does come with a whole lot of extra admin and logistics, not to mention public safety for the organizers. If this event is well supported, I am sure it will expand and may involve something like a night stage next year.

The only option for the Enduro will be the 3 stage. As I said above, the stages will be long, so there is plenty of riding to do.

During practice, Enduro Riders will be permitted as many shuttles as they can fit in. Shuttles will be shared with the DH riders who will be practicing for the national at the same time and will be on a first come first served basis.

During the race (12h00 to 15h00), Enduro riders will be given priority but will only be permitted 2 uplifts each.

So you will have to ride up the hill once.

Some pre-race vids would be awesome! Send Hylton F down with a Go Pro... :)

I'll have a chat to some of the guy;s and see if we can get something together.

So has anyone had a chance to film the stages?

I have heard they are steep and fun.

eish it seems this is a toightly guarded secret this time around...

me thinks i should have done some recce work yesterday instead of wobbling down the dh track all afternoon.

cascades is looking scrumptious.... its actually cool that they havent done too many super events lately..... it has bought back some of the gnar to the place.

moerse thanks to all the ouks that grafted on the trails this wkd!!!

I have been out of action with some busted ribs, and our other efforts have failed with not using helmet mounts the footage is just to rough. Will see if a last minute vid is possible.

What did you do?

You KZNers have been having a rough time lately.

Send Sharj down this afternoon with a GoPro, he can basically ride the trails with a blind fold by now.

Agreed! The top section of the DH track was running flippen fantastically

Peach, Davii & I will be riding at least one of the enduro trails this afternoon (if the weather plays ball), but we don't have a GoPro with us.

I'll try to describe the trail to you.

You enter a slightly bermed turn then head steeply down, then turn, then down, then turn, then pass a rock, make a turn, then down (this sort of repeats itself to the bottom, which is quite a way away).

My OTB at St Ives ended up being some cracked ribs and torn intercostal muscle.[emoji30]

The problem is getting a GoPro!!!

I'm heading through this afternoon and I'll try to film some of the stages. That said I have no idea what the actual stages are so I could just be filming random trails (I've based my assumptions on what seems to have been recently maintained).

Also, I THINK all three stages start just below Eye-Boggler (thus the shuttles make sense) and then head ALL THE WAY DOWN to the normal finish area (so there will be some serious pedaling involved).

Should be a good day out regardless.

Also most of the WC DH and XCO courses are being used and taped off so the Enduro wont be able to use or cross those trails. Which also makes me wonder where exactly they'll be ending...
