A cycling light. But make sure they dont have one, because if you buy him one and he already has a 2000lm light it will be pointless. It all depends on the budget, there is a **** load of stuff to choose from.

As a cyclist, I don't like it when people buy me cycling gifts. Perhaps I'm just too fussy, and perhaps I enjoy doing the pre-purchase research myself. And as much as I love cycling, there is more to me than just bikes.

(Sheesh - I sound like such a grump!)

I do the pre-purchase research myself and then just pass the info on.  Give the person a couple of options and they can choose so its still a surprise.

Depends on the level of the cyclist. The more experienced they are, the more they are likely to know what they like/dont like. My boyfriend is extremely fussy. And he also seems to have an addition to buying online. I think its coming to the stage where he has to hide packaging from me, almost the same way as his mother hides her shoe boxes from his father! Even when I am buying something for him I need to check that it is exactly what he wants.

New set of grips could also be a cool gift, but then again personal preference...

I agree but only with pricey stuff. Consumables always welcome, good chain lube, range of snack bars, socks, Stans and other things as mentioned before

2 x tubs of Assos Chamois Cream.

If you really love him/her, and for a fraction of the price, a 1kg tub of 'Udder Cream' form your local farm vet!

That is better value, but if you DO really love them, you wouldn't deprive them of that distinct Assos Spearminty Tingle.

Firstly is the gift for a roadie or a mountain biker?

Roadie = Something to make the miserable guys smile.

Mountain Bikers really dont need anything, so get something they dont need or havent thought of or something that is better than what they use normally.

Some ideas

- YAWYD Headcap (they hard to find but worth it.........google it)

- Park Tool BO-5 Wall Mount Bottle Opener

- Park Tool SPK- Park Tool Stainless Steel Spork

- Park Tool BCB-4 Bike Cleaning Brush Set

- Park Tool MB-1 Magnetic Bowl

*actually anything parktool will be gladly accepted

Think winter.... its soooo getting cold so i think a gift that would keep him/her on their bike in the winter will be the best gift!

Get a wife, they drive you so insane that you end up riding in snow just to catch a break ;)
