Santa Cruz Tallboy vs Scott 910 (2015)

also faced this decision 2 months ago, always said the only 29"er I would ever get was a tallboy, but also liked the scotts geo setup.

Was always more biased towards the 27,5 wheel though.

Test road the scott 710 and it is so good for me the decision was immediate.

Maybe I would have bought a tallboy if I had tried one.

Ja look, it's certainly not super light. Mine's about 12kg (with dropper post, 120mm Reba, XT groupo, Mountain King/X-King, Cross max SLR). So I guess you can get it to around 11kg with 1x11 and losing the dropper post?

Sounds like you've got the top-end frame there Banna.  There's a new one in the Tall Boy spread - identical in all respects ito appearance.  Also carbon but heavier.  Think if we're going to compare apples with apples this is the model to compare with the Scott 910  (that is if marathon is the bias).  Will be a fair bit heavier than the Scott.

For sure. But I'd still buy the SC. :-)

I own a spark 940 2015 and bought the tallboy C last year thinking it would be just as fast and a bit of an upgrade. well decided to sell the tallboy because its just doesn't ride like the Scott.

slower overall and harder to climb compared to the Scott.

Pretty sure that almost 3 years later the OP has made a choice though.
