Event Name: Beaulieu MTB And Trail Run Challenge
When: 7 June 2015
Where: Inanda Country Base, Kyalami,, Gauteng
Category: MTB

New venue, loads of new trails and just as much fun. This will be the 6th year that Beaulieu Prep will be hosting the Beaulieu MTB and Trail Run Challenge.

This years event includes an awesome 2.5 km, 5 km, 15 km, 25 km and 45 km route which starts at the new Inanda Country Base club house in the Greater Kyalami Conservancy.

We will also for the first time be incorporating a 12 km and 5 km trail run.

The 25 km and 45 km MTB races incorporate bridle trails, jeep track and plenty of new single track.

The 2.5 km, 5 km and 15 km meanders along the jeep track and single track inside the Inanda Country Base grounds and caters for the young and less fit.

The 12 km trail run route exists Inanda Country Base and makes it's way into the countryside along river courses, pine and gum tree forests with a few interesting challenges in the mix. The 5km trail run is a fun run and although the route is slightly hilly it is easily manageable for less fit and first time trail runners.

We are making a huge effort to make this race a truly memorable experience from beginning to end that will hopefully keep you talking for weeks afterwards. For those friends and family members who are not riding or running, there will be loads of entertainment, food, drinks and music at Inanda Country Base during and after the race.

OUT REACH

Beaulieu Prep with support from Mix FM is running an outreach programme to collect new and second hand cycling kit to be distributed through the Diepsloot Mountain Bike Academy. Please bring along any new and second hand kit on number collection day or race day and leave it in the collection box provided.

PS. Arrive early on the 7th June before the race to take advantage of the cappuccinos and bacon rolls on sale.

Best thing about this race for me is its a nice 6km warm up ride to the start; then race; then a couple beers and roll back down the hill home.

What an incredible turn out!

Well done to Ian Martin for winning the Mens 45km,

Lauren Whitehouse the Ladies 45km,

Garret Brinkman for winning the 15km.

The 25km was won by a late entry, number 602.

The feedback received so far has been very positive and is always appreciated.

Thank you to all participants and supporters who came through on the 7th. The weather was perfect for trail running and riding. Finish times will be out shortly.
