There is sometimes confusion regarding which areas are members only and which aren't in the Majik / D'Aria / Bloemendal area.

yellow is open to all

blue is Tygerberg mtb club members and day permit holders only

red is a pedestrian only zone (ride slowly, greet, don't build jumps or ride over Labradors or their owners)

pink route is soon to be re-routed due to van riebeekshof residents erecting a perimeter fence

Day permits to ride the blue trail can be purchased at bloemendal for R30 (there is a permit seller outside Bon Amis on weekends or you can purchase from Sportsworld or Bloemendal wine tasting).

Reviving an OLD thread ...

There are some GOOD trails inside the D'Aria grounds.

We often see people unlocking the gate and riding from D'Aria into Bloemendal, just above B Spot.

But we cant find the D'Aria trail map on the Tygerberg trail maps ....

Would love some more information ....

There is a member's only corridor from Protea Hotel that ends at that gate. No Tygerberg MTB board, no ride.

There were people riding Bloemendal without even day passes yesterday all over the show. I eventually gave up pointing it out. Mostly kids, but some adults in the mix as well.

Had a nice ride at D'Aria this afternoon.  Went with other Tygerberg members that know the area.

They showed us the routes.

On our second lap we encountered three racing snakes coming from the Hotel side along the corridor ... ONE member board amongst the three .... PITY, I did not get the number of that one board !!

The annual membership is about than the cost of one tire .... yet way too many people just dont pay .... this cant end well .... and it will be the paying members worst affected ....

Meerendal has already gone all biometric with access .... others may just close access to their farms ....

It blows my mind how people seem to think that they are "entitled" to ride wherever they see a trail. To heck with the landowner's wishes as to terms of use of PRIVATE LAND. I get so demoerin when I see this behaviour, but I suppose it's because my parents have a farm.

Anyway, I agree that this will end badly for the club seeing as the farmers who have made their land available for us to use are getting g@tvol of people who do as they please. And yes, we will get the short end of the stick, not the nonpaying selfish morons who spoil it for everyone else.
