I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be possible.

Are you looking for the extra range of the Sram?

Yip, always been a Shimano fan, but the range of Sram makes more sense.

Should be okay, spacing is the same across the cassettes. Bear in mind that you'll have to change your freehub body or entire hub assembly to fit the SRAM 11 speed cassette. Why not just wait for the new Shimano 11-42 cassettes?

Yes....the XD Driver is another unfortunate expense – (if I can find it for my Hub).

I'm not the patient type - also still won't give me a bottom 10.

it does give you the option of going for the 45t Extender Ring from One-Up components, and then go up a size in the front... Same overall result, far less schlep.

if weight is important, the 45 One up is a lot heavier option than 10-42 SRAM.

The SRAM cassette lasts a very long time, Mine have lasted more than twice as long as previous XTR cassettes, so actually works out cheaper in the long run.

I have 2 STANS XD freehub bodies for sale ( R650 each) as I changed wheelsets.

i have it on my bike and it works 100 percent.

Great. Did you have to do any additional adjustments? Shifting smoothly into 10 and 42?

The One-up 45t extender gets you within 3% of the range of a SRAM 10-42 cassette but at much lower cost if you can use your existing cassette
