I dont know what is the issue with the XD driver or why it puts people off the whole idea, that is one of the best inventions/changes they could do. For one its lighter and you dont have the cassette bite into you freehub anymore.

Possibly the fact that it is not compatible with most hubs?

and they are crazy expensive...

I thought they that they are available for most hubs? Expensive? I think I paid R1k for the XD Driver.

Nope. Only a few. My old hub for instance, you could get one. But even though it was cheap (R 500) you had to pay in excess of R 1,500 for shippping as they changed their shipping t's & c's and ONLY used UPS.

That, plus the cassette, made for a VERY expensive change.

Vs just getting the XT 11-40? Far better.

Quick question. I've completed the conversion and everything went smooth. I've just indexed the gears and going from 11t - 42t is a dream. My issue is coming from 42t - 11t. Single clicks do not respond but double clicks do. Please advise me to sort this out.

Keep trying until you find middle ground. If your RD is worn or cables dirty/sticky this can happen. New cable + outer is easy and cheap.

Also adjust your B screw until you get just enough clearance from the 42 to the 1st pulley. If too much or too little clearance it may not derail the chain as it should. SRAM installation manual from the web will tell you what the clearance should be.

Obvious question ... you had 2x10 and now 1x11. Presume you have changed to an 11spd shifter and RD?

I'm on 1x10. New cable, new casing and new pully wheels. Will have a fiddle again later.
